This system uses short-wave heat instead of medium wave. This is similar to a microwave as opposed to an oven. The heat penetrates deep which consequently helps to dry from the inside out and not vice-versa. The advantages that are created by this system are as follows:
Improvement in quality of the paint.
The quality is improved because it eliminates a development called shrinkage. Shrinkage is when the paint appears to have wrinkles in it. This usually occurs after 30 days when the primer underneath the paint was not properly dried. After time, the primer dried and basically shrunk which caused the paint to follow. Shrinkage can be avoided if the primer is allowed to dry but unfortunately time is of the essence in repair facilities and some shops do not give the primer the sufficient time. This system alleviates the time pressure by drying the paint thoroughly and quickly; therefore it eliminates the shrinkage problem.
Faster production will occur as this system can dries primer quickly.
Since primer is needed in many repairs, its drying can slow the repair process. With the development of this system, a bumper or panel can be repaired and painted in 1-2 days instead of 2-3 days. Since time can cause an expense to the customer in the form of a rental car bill, this infrared system will help the customer in quality and time.
